First they cut holes and put in can lights - to replace the long, horrible, hospital lights that were there previously.
Then, we replaced the brown, grease and dirt (that we couldn't wash off no matter how hard we scrubbed) covered fan with a white one that isn't quite as "in your face" as the other one.
Then there was wall patching, etc. . . . .
And then, we got to start putting in the cabinets!!!!:
On top of the other good luck we had with finding good prices, we are also very blessed that Gus works at WellsFargo because Whirlpool banks with WellsFargo - and therefore Gus got an AMAZING discount on the appliances (saved $400 more).
And our first new appliance was put into place (our stove/oven combo - to replace the seperate cook top and wall oven that used double the counter space):
Some more cabinetry - ALMOST done with this phase of redo!
It's looking GREAT - and the guys will be back to do some more today. I think they'll even be DONE - with this phase. Then we can go to Temple/Belton and see our land, our family, and our friends for the 4th of July weekend!!! Back to kitchen work on Monday though!
Monday at 9:00am - countertop appointment. We'll get a measure, might have to pick a new color (might stick with the same one - depends on the price change) - and hopefully have a countertop by Thursday . . . and a backsplash by Friday . . . and be back to cooking by Saturday. One week from there - SURPRISE MOM AND DAD!!! Our new kitchen - and you didn't have to do any work - just enjoy our company!!! ;)
Phase 5 - not complete YET!
