Kitchen Redo - Phase 1 - Empty the Kitchen

Where to begin is the real question . . .

We want to move closer to Gamma and Pops.
We looked for land - found some - compromised a TINY bit.
We got a steal of a deal on 2 adjoining lots in a subdivision called Tanglewood - a little over an acre.
Some of the lots have a lakeview. Ours will have to be "made" to have a lakeview - but we're trying to come up with something!!!
It does have a pool, camp grounds, access to the lake (near the campgrounds I believe), and wildlife roaming freely (deer chill on your front lawn and take walks on the streets).
It is only a few miles from my parents.
We are tryint to prep. to sell our house in Dallas in about 2 years and start building our "forever house" on our land!!!

So - since we got a GREAT deal on the land (We didn't have to finance any of it - we were able to pay in full - and we own both lots outright!!!), we were able to splurge a little bit this summer and redo the kitchen in our wonderful, current home.

Almost everything in it was the original (the house was built in 1980). The microwave was as big as the oven. We didn't have very much counter space, and the cabinets, countertop, and backsplash (countertops and backsplash were a feaux wood laminate) all were EXTREMELY out-dated!
We decided to go ahead and renovate now so that we could enjoy what we were going to be paying for eventually anyway. YEAH!!!

So . . . we planned on doing it all ourselves with some help from my Dad and brother(s) within about a weekend's time. Of course, I'd have most of the emptying and demo done before they arrived.
WOW - was that the worst plan I've ever had. You'll understand why as I continue.

The emptying wasn't a problem. Augie did pretty good entertaining himself, and the rest was completed during his nap times. So here are our BEFORE pictures of the OLD kitchen - emptied out!

This is before/during taking all the doors off the cabinets, etc.:

Phase 1 - COMPLETE!!!
