Milestones, Milestones!!!

Our sweet boy is growing SO quickly!!! He's tracking objects, grabbing them, getting distracted by noises, lifting his trunk and neck . . . . I could go on forever.

Gus wanted me to remove this first picture, but I said NO. You can see how hard he is concentrating on his exersaucer toys! He was really intent on where the noise/music was coming from! Found it! Right between the eyes!!!

Of course, there's the drool and bubbles that multiply daily - and we're not teething yet at all. Just having fun. LOVE THE EXERSAUCER!!!

It does give him a work out being in there. He's been much more alert and active - a little more everyday it seems like. So, early to bed (sort of), and early to rise (really early). We always get at least 20 min. of family time after eating first thing in the morning. Such a treasured time that is!!!
Daddy enjoys sleeping until Aug's done eating, then participates in our memorable morning minutes. From the bed - of course. :)

All joking aside - I couldn't do it without Gus. Gus helps out A LOT!!! He is a GREAT, AWESOME, WONDERFUL daddy and husband!!! I live with the 2 best guys in the world . . . and I'm only a little bias!!!

We've been trying to fit in some more tummy time too. Augie's legs are SO strong. The top half is quickly catching up though! He is learning how to turn his head to the side so as to not face plant into the blanket anymore! We caught some practice pics. Keep up the good work Bubbah!

Not to mention - the growth rate of this kiddo . . . He is going to be 4 months on March 12th. His 3-6 month clothes fit him just right - for now. Infact, we had to go and get him some more 3-6 month clothes because one day he fit in the 3 month, and the next day they were too tight. So he's sporting his new duds for now - The shirt says "totally handsome" - and it is SO true . . . but I only give him a couple weeks before he's fully into 6 months and 6-9 months clothes! So, he'll be 4 months, wearing 6 month clothes! Grow baby grow!!!

And there's Daddy again . . . some times he just has that "sleeper hold" that Augie likes at the end of a long day! Good Job Daddy!

More tummy time! This time he actually lifted his whole trunk and did "the superman!" Feet up, arms up, trunk up - and looking at the camera - SUPERMAN!!! Mom and Dad couldn't be more proud!!!

And a return to the back to rest, relax, and enjoy a snack of plump, juicy hand! It's an Augie favorite for sure.

Until the next week in review . . .
WE SEND OUR LOVE TO EVERYONE!!!
GOD BLESS,
The StaatsPac

Simple Saturday

Finding joy in the simple things in life . . . is something that happens a lot more often when you have a little one around! And Simple Saturday - is my dat to enjoy my son - and look back at the special moments that have occured throughout the rest of the week.

#1. VALENTINE'S DAY
Bubbah got some really cute socks - shown below - that were perfect for this occasion - and happened to match his outfit as well!

A little bit of time was spent in his new bumbo . . . but don't doubt for a minute that the majority was spent in mommy's arms sharing lots of love, hugs, and kisses.

And of course - we sent out a Valentine's Hug to family members - using the best, BIG SMILE pictures that we've caught on camera thus far!!! He is SUCH A HAPPY BABY!!! I LOVE IT!!!

#2. ASH WEDNESDAY
Yes, we even took pictures of his first Ash Wednesday. He did great during mass - not a fuss.

#3. AGGIE DAY
Our Aggie onesies finally fit! And we made it through the day without blowing it out!!!

#4. RESPONSE TO TICKLES - BIG LAUGHTER
Last night was amazing! Augie laughed, and laughed, and laughed. It was the sweetest thing I've ever heard! He responded to us tickling his sides - and giggled - a lot. I wish I would have had the video camera ready . . . but I did catch him today, on camera, and it was almost as good as last night.

I am now eagerly awaiting the next time we get to play "tickle phalanges."

The More I Get, The More I Want!

Time that is! The more time I spend with Augie, the more I want to stay home and enjoy him all day long. He is staying awake more. He's responding to playing games more - with smiles and laughs. He's cooing a lot more. He is moving like crazy. He is developing into such a big, little man!!!

Last nap of the day . . . full tummy!

A little play time before the bath . . . "Standing & Melting" as Gus and I call it!!! Boy, this kid is really stretching out!

And . . . trying out our new "Bumbo"! We're learning to sit up like a big boy!

A GREAT END TO A GREAT DAY . . . BECAUSE IT WAS BATH NIGHT!!!
We used the monkey towel - and when he was out of the warm water and all wrapped up, he wanted to stay that way! He stuck his thumb in his mouth and curled up in my arms. It was sooooooo cute!

SWEET DREAMS!!!

Just Can't Get Enough of This Guy!!!

This is mainly to add some of the fun pictures of Augie from this weekend! He is so stinkin' cute, and I guess I have "first child picture syndrome" - because I feel the need to take pictures of everything he does sleeping or awake!

So, here we go . . .

WHERE'D ALL THE SNOW GO?
We took him out in the snow - what was left of it - to try and get a picture of him in the white wonderfulness since he was asleep for the big stuff on Friday. Most of the snow had melted, so we went to a small patch in the shade in our backyard. My wonderful friend Vicky and her family bought Augie a cute sweater and matching hat for Christmas. CUTE, CUTE COMBO! We decided it was the perfect snow outfit! Unfortunately, Augie's head has grown and the hat is a little small. The sweater fit good though. We stretched the hat and got it on for the picture, but the poor little guy was SO tired. No smiles for these pictures - but they're still cute!

ANGEL IN MY ARMS!
Fell asleep in my arms - definitely a mommy favorite! I know it won't be long until he wants out of the arms and on his own. :(

FLYING TIGERBEAR ANYONE?
This outfit is just awesome! (A wonderful teacher at the school got it for him - thanks Natalie!) It kept him warm for all of the snow days - and it's hillariously cute. He didn't even mind having the hood on. I felt like it was warm and comfy for him to keep on by itself. Easy to change him without completely undressing him too. Great mommy outfit! Great baby outfit! He wore it 3 days in a row. It's not like he gets dirty - he's only 3 months old! :)

TUMMY TIME?
His neck is getting stronger everyday! His legs are SUPER strong! Now we just need to get him to do some push-ups and get that upper-body in shape!!!

FORGET THE PACIFIER!!!
He's definitely going to be a thumb sucker! He sticks it so far into his mouth - past the knuckle at his hand - it completely disappears. He finds it very soothing. It's SO cute - for now! We'll break him of it later - for now, we'll just enjoy the absolute cuteness of it!!!

NOT ENOUGH NAKED PICTURES!
All babies have pictures - diaper only! I realized the other day (since Augie's a Winter baby), that we don't have nearly enough of these belly bragging pics! So, of course we are now going to play catch up! Look at that tum! He is one "healthy" baby!!! :)

PAJAMA PRESENTS!
Pops and Grandma Lopez (my mom and dad) bought these adorable new PJs for our growing little man as a gift for his baptism. Size 3-6 months and they fit perfectly! What a cute sweet little man! THANK HEAVEN FOR LITTLE "BEARS"!

Winter Wonderland!

I know we are waaaaaay past Christmas time, but it is still winter. And today, I'm in my very own Winter Wonderland!!! SCHOOL WAS CANCELED!!!
The kids already had the day off, but we were supposed to have in-service. The weather didn't allow it though. SO, YEAH FOR THE WEATHER! It started snowing at about 4 am on Thursday morning (yesterday) and didn't stop until about 10pm. Then the temperature dropped and froze the melted snow. So, the roads weren't so good. And I pray for those that had to drive on them this morning, but the landscape of it all is BEAUTIFUL!

AND, I AM SO GREATFUL FOR THE DAY OFF OF SCHOOL . . . AND WITH MY SON!!!
He even got to wear his tiger bear (that's what we're calling it) outfit to help keep him warm and comfy throughout the day (with mommy)!

I didn't realize how much I missed him until this morning when I didn't have to drop him off. The strong me that has been taking him and dropping him off at the nanny's for the past three weeks+ just regressed back to a sad mother who misses her boy and all the time that has passed! It makes me want to cry . . . so moving on . . .

There is snow almost a foot thick, and the news says that it is definitely a record breaker for the area! This is my foot stepping into the snow on our front lawn this morning - it really sank right in!!!

The snowflakes were huge yesterday and made a beautiful scene to photograph. The students were all upset that they couldn't stay outside and play in it though - don't really blame them, because I wanted to do the same thing!
And I got to - this morning! Augie was sleeping, so I decided to get it out of my system while I could! I even made Gus come out and get a picture with me.

And OF COURSE you can't have snow without a snow . . . family!!! I woke up with the idea and had to follow through. Button eyes, hershey kiss noses, our real hats, scarves, gloves, beer?!, and pacifier! We did have to think quick and put it all together before Augie woke up, but it turned out GREAT!!!

AUGIE!

WITH THE CREATORS:

What a wonderful, wonderful morning! Our outside playtime was followed by (cleaning house) spending time with Augie, enjoying him falling asleep in my arms, getting lots of smiles and giggles while playing to our new set of sing-a-long CDs, and we still have the rest of the day (with mommy)!!!
Like I said . . . a REAL WINTER WONDERLAND!!!
