So . . . here's the skinny on what's going on NOW:
We decided to go with one of Gus' clients - who is a general contractor - and is getting us a ridicululously wonderful price on everything - to do the kitchen. SURPRISE MOM AND DAD!!!
So the game plan is that Mom and Dad are supposed to be coming to help on the weekend of July 17th and everything will be complete without them having to lift a finger. I have been building it up a little and trying not to spill the beans on having it half way complete at this point. So, they're expecting to come and work - BUT - they are going to get to come and relax.
Gus is VERY excited about surprising them and not asking them to do anything!
So here is what the final decisions have come to for the cabinets, backsplash, and countertops:
This is the color and style of the cabinets in the warehouse (10% off because of being in stock - were able to start and finish sonner because of this & we saved almost $2000 from the original quote we had!!!!!!!)
The backsplash we chose - up against the cabinets ($1.99/sq.ft. for glass tile! It was the cheapest we found anywhere and they still had a neutral color scheme that we really liked!)
We debated and decided to go with Silestone countertops because we saved on the cabinetry. This is the color we chose - Beige Olimpo:
All 3 put together:
It's going to LOOK SOOOOOOO GOOD when it's all done!!!!
Phase 2 - COMPLETE!!!!
