Following our wonderful breakfast, I got to open my birthday gifts. I received a huge relaxation/bath pack from Mom Staats - much needed! And I received a beautiful clay birdhouse from Dad Staats and Kathy - it's too pretty to even put outside (yet)!
I couldn't put Gus' gift to use yet, as I didn't get cleared to be fully active until the 28th of Dec., but he got me an amazing pair of UnderArmor tennis shoes for me to get running again. I really wanted a good pair to start training for a 10K. He said he's going to train with me too so we can run it together. I don't know if he realizes, but I'M GOING TO HOLD HIM TO IT!!! I'm extremely excited about it (and will be more so when it's not so darn freezing outside)!
Several phone calls, texts, and facebook messages later - I felt even more loved by all that sent birthday wishes. Thanks to everyone for making it such a love filled day!
Now, my sweet, sweet boy and I spent the entire day together - with no set schedule! I love not having a schedule - on occasion only though - the scheduled days make me appreciate the non-scheduled ones even more! My lovely son though . . . wow, he took it out of me. He was very hungry and a little needy that day. By the time Gus came home to take me to dinner, I was exhausted! Of course we still went!!! We kept it low key and went to a nice dinner at Picasso's Pizza. I hadn't been before, and dinner was delicious. We refrained from taking pictures though - Augie was asleep in his car seat, and we just wanted to go home and relax with our full tummies.
All together . . . I started and ended my day with my two best guys - who could ask for more?!
Again - I tell you it was the best birthday ever!!!
