Early Riser!

So Augie decided to wake up early yesterday.
I really have no room to complain since he's been sleeping through the night since about 2 1/2 months! But at 4:00am in the morning, I wasn't feeling quite so gracious about the situation at hand. I admit, I grumbled, "Why do you want to wake up now?"

Then, our early riser put on a real show. He fell asleep nursing. But as soon as I set him down, he woke up FULL of energy! Giggling, rolling, "talking." He was just having himself a grand 'ol time!!!

So, we video'd him! I promise, this was recorded at about 4:30am - bright eyed - and bushy tailed!

I still haven;t regained that hour - it doesn't sound like much, but it's gettin' me!

Hope everyone has a restful weekend!
Love,
The StaatsPac

Little Laundry Helper

I know I already blogged about Augie turning circle in his new "Johnny Jump Up," but I was having trouble with the video.
Well, here it is - up and working.
And here is Augie - Helping with the laundry!!!

Mommy sure loves her little helper!

Augie/Ellie video Has Arrived!

Lots of updating (uploading) to do. I feel as though I have neglected the blog! Augie is growing and changing so quickly - I just can't keep up with him (as far as blogging about it all).

Let's start with the introduction of the "Johnny Jump Up." He is so used to being in his exersaucer, that he immediately began turning in circles. The best part is when he grabbed his laundry basket that was nearby and dragged it in (almost) a full circle!

Then - continuing with the "jumping theme" - he also experienced his first bounce house at our friend's party (Thanks Farias Family for sharing). He wasn't real thrilled about it. Not disappointed either. Just very indifferent.

Next new activity - tucking in the bottom lip to make what daddy calls the "turtle face." So funny how his top lip comes to a little point . . . just like a turtle!

He also hums! I'll try to get a video up.

AND - we're loving our tummy time now! He is rolling back and forth all over the place. He is really getting strong - check out his "pose" for the camera. What a muscular neck and back!!!

Still need to fit some push ups in there somewhere. He is getting his knees under him, but doesn't push up enough on his arms . . . so he kind of slides his face against the floor as he tries to move forward. He's getting there though - I don't think it'll be long before we really have to watch him a lot more closely. Time to start baby proofing again!

Best Friends!!!

I guess the other video was just too big - it wouldn't upload even when I let the computer sit on for hours! So, we got a new one. It wasn't hard considering how much Augie LOVES Ellie.

My only fear is that his first word will be Ellie instead of Mama or Dad.

(Notice - Ellie's hair is a little bit shorter - the clipper's I have couldn't get through all of the "lion's mane," so we'll have to go the professionals - but I did succeed in getting off some of the extra fuzz!)

A Must See!

Augie has now found Ellie - and the joy of being around animals. I'm not really sure if this is good or bad. Augie's rolling over like it's a piece of cake, trying to get his knees under his body, and I'm guessing will be crawling pretty soon. Then the real trouble begins! I just know that Augie is giong to be chasing Ellie everywhere, pulling her hair and her tail, and "bothering" her. She's really going to have to get used to being around a baby - and I hope it goes well.

For now, she just wants to lick him. And he thinks that she is hilarious just when she walks by! They are great buds!

He was getting tired and a little grumpy this evening, and all it took was Ellie coming near him to cheer him up and get him laughing and smiling. This video is priceless!!! (I know Ellie needs a hair cut - please ignore the extra fuzziness that is our dog!)

Well Worth Waiting For

Yeah - WE FINALLY CAUGHT HIM ON VIDEO!!!
I will save it for the end of the blog - as there is a lot of catching up to do.

Augie is officially eating real food. Bananas and pears are a first choice for him. Squash is another favorite. Peas - not so much.
Funny faces all the way around!

We're also learning how to drive! (Not really - we were just waiting for Daddy to get out of work and needed something to do.)

We walked 5 miles for the March of Dimes on Saturday's March for Babies! It was very reinvigorating after being so careful for so long (through the pregnancy and recovery period after). It's at least a FUN starting point - we're working up to our 10k - slowly!

As soon as the walk was over, we jumped in the car and headed to Temple for Nico's confirmation (no pictures- oops) and Alexa's first Birthday. We were ready to party!

And so was Alexa!

What a great birthday she had (sunglasses courtesy of Gus and I, Tinkerbell 4 wheeler courtesy of PawPaw)! She definitely learned quickly how to make that thing GO!

And exhausted after all that partying!

Story that goes with this picture . . . When we played soccer in high school, Nico was soooooo cute! He was always ready to help, and was quickly recruited to be the team's "ball boy!" He was famous - even made the paper after one of the team mom's had a special shirt made for him.
Continuing to present day, it was cold outside on Sunday (although the forecast said it should have been in the 70s) and we were unprepared for Augie to have warm clothes. Pops (my dad), had the "perfect idea." Hence Nico's old sweatshirt! It was adorable - and covered all of him except those feet and his head of course. Kept him warm for a good long nap too!!!

AND THE FINALE OF THE WEEKEND . . . AFTER TRYING (AND FAILING TO BE QUICK ENOUGH TO CATCH HIM) OUR HANDSOME LITTLE MAN ROLLED OVER FOR US WHEN THE CAMERA WAS READY AND ROLLING TOO . . .

AND THE WAIT WAS WORTH IT . . . WE CAUGHT HIM DO A DOUBLE ROLL!!!

WATCH HIM GO!

HE DID IT!!!

He did it! He rolled over today - and I think it's going to be much more frequent than the last "roll over." He went from his back to his tummy, and he didn't even get scared! He just turned his head, rested it on his little arms, smiled, and looked at me like he was tired from working so hard!
This is a picture of the "after" - since I wasn't fast enough to catch the "during!"

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AWESOME!!! SOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE!!!

Video soon to come . . . at least we hope. We tried to get him to do it again - but of course it didn't work! We'll keep you posted!
