Momma's Boys & Memorial Day

I really enjoy the opportunities that I get to sit down and blog. They are just fewer in number with both boys home and both hands full! So - I'm going to try to play a little catch up on some of our GREAT TIMES that we've all been having!!!

I will start with saying that I have three great guys in my life - and two of the biggest "Momma's Boys" ever - and it has its ups and downs (which aren't really that much of downers - they just aren't an "up" and they take some getting used to).

"Not an Up": It can be overwhelming at times to have 2 people that depend on you completely. I am really worried about keeping up when I have to go back to work in August! I know I can do it . . . It's just going to be harder than ever to go back. Augie and Anthony have both become quite attached to having me home all the time - and I'm just adjusting to our schedule. We're definitely going to have LOTS of tears when school starts back up (from ALL OF US - Mommy is very attached also!)

Ups: I have the 3 Best Boy Friends I could ever ask for!!!

My Hubby - who is amazing and still reminds me that I'm Elisa, and not just Momba! And keeps me on my toes and laughing. I couldn't do it without him!

My Augie - who is at that stage where I am the one he wants 95% of the time and is very quirky, showing off, and learning and using new words everyday. (I'm not going to lie - when I think about him getting older and turning into a Daddy's Boy, and a teenager, and then an adult - I remind myself that at least for now, I get to be his #1 girl and enjoy that fact very much!)

My Anthony - of course I'm his #1 . . . I am his source of food and comfort zone! He is such a happy baby and is very alert. My favorite part of the day is our after lunch time nap when he falls asleep on my chest - and I get to fall asleep too (because it's also big brother's nap time).

A day that I got to spend with all of my boys - with little to worry about - and was very memorable - was Memorial Day! The StaatsPac went to the Arboretum to enjoy the outdoors and beautiful scenery. An amazing day with my boys!

So - the theme for the Summer at the Arboretum was fairy tale castles & Peter Rabbit's village. They had a scavenger hunt for the kids where you had to find all 7 castles (one being Peter Rabbit's house) and a specific item in them. We didn't participate fully since Augie isn't quite ready for the seek and find of specific items yet. But we did stop at all 7 castles and check things out.
I'm not including all 7 - it's just too much.

The 2 that were the biggest hits for Augie were:
The Princess and the Pea! (He thought the pea was a ball and kept wanting to go back to see it!)

And Rapunzel's Castle! Because it had fun, kiddy sized doors that Augie could fit though. There was one for the prince to exit:

And an exit for princesses as well:

Augie of course loved the PRINCESS DOOR!!! Aaaaaaaaaaah!!! (I think it's because it was a little more recognizeable as a door.) It was actually really cute and funny!

We also went to Peter Rabbit's village. It was gorgeous,

they had some fun little rabbits (as well as other animals) made out of plants,

and they had a HUGE Peter Rabbit that was also made out of plants - pretty cool!

We stopped by the frog fountains to cool off a little -

- but not too much - we didn't bring the proper extras to get really wet. So, we just stuck our hands in a little and enjoyed the splashes!!!

They had a great little petting zoo with a pony, chickens, a sheep, a bunny, and GOATS! Augie decided that he loved the goats - and went from one to the next saying, "go" "go." (The "t" wasn't really annunciated.)

We stopped at the "Water Walls" which were absolutely gorgeous!

Augie took the opportunity to ask to hold his brother for a picture! And threw in a kiss for good measure!!!! PRICELESS!!!!

And we were able to get a couple of family pictures in as well:

They also had a great children's singer that we stopped to see, face painting (that we passed on - it was really FACE painting - the whole face!), and lots of areas to sit and enjoy food and cool off - which we did a couple times in between our adventures. And so much more - It could take me days to include it all!

It was a wonderful way to spend a day! A true dream - a girl, her best guys, and lots of flowers and fun!!!
