Joys of June #6 - Augie's New Toy

So, we decided . . . it's too hard to take both boys to the swimming pool with just Mommy. And, we didn't buy the season pass that we originally had planned on getting. Intead, we invested in a new toy (and helmet) for Augie!!!

Needless to say, he LOVES it!!!

His new Cars helmet too!

Go! Augie, Go!

Joys of June #5 - Anthony's Baptism

What a blessed day - and a great way to start the month! Anthony's was baptized on June 11th and officially welcomed into the church.

What proud parents we are - another child has received the light of Christ!!! (I love the Veggie Tales version of "This Little Light of Mine," and it ran through my head all day!)

We asked our very close friends (like family), Vicky and Leo to be the God Parents - what a wonderful family to be connected to in such a wonderful way!!! Each and every one of them!

I am so thankful to have Vicky in my life!

And Gus' mom was also able to stay with us and share in the wonderful occasion!

Of course, we got some other great pictures too!!!
Anthony in his suit:

One of the whole family:

We were also able to buy Augie big boy clothes for the occasion (a happy and sad moment). He looked like such a little man!!! (This is one of my favorites of the boys with me, and it also happens to be the only one where you can see Aug's new outfit!)

And more of Augie - we'll just say that he enjoyed the baptismal area greatly!

And a very memorable moment happened when Augie wanted to lay his hands on our heads to bless us with Father at the end of the ceremony! One on me & one on Dad!!!

Then - off to the house for refreshments and family time!!!

Anthony made sure to change from his suit into something equally dressy - since it was such a special occasion!!!

And didn't forget to put on his charming little smile either!!!

We are so blessed!!! Two very, very blessed parents!!!

Joys of June #4 - NBA PlayOffs!!!

Gus was SO FORTUNATE to get to go to the last home games for the Mavs during the playoffs this year! What an experience!!!

He had a friend from work with season tickets that offered one to him - the story is a little more in depth - but that's the skinny version.
He had an AMAZING time!
He brought me home the t-shirt that he got for the "blue out" that was going on . . .

an XL, but I did some cutting, tying and styling to wear it on the celebration day. And then I got a cute ladies shirt for 1/2 off from Academy the other day!!!

He got some really good pictures too!

I was only a LITTLE BIT jealous of his getting to go, but I know it was something he shouldn't pass up to wait for me to be able to go with him. And I'm SO glad that he got to experience it!!!

Joys of June #3

I'm just going to post a video - it will speak for itself why IT IS SUCH A JOY!!!

But I will say that it's easy to forget some of the most special, simple, marvelous moments that you get to share with your baby when they are tiny and new.
You take everything day by day and tell yourself that you'll never forget that moment, but then they grow up SO quickly.
Before you know it, you are cherishing the next moment that you're living in - which is also special and marvelous.
But then, time just keeps flying . . . and you find yourself looking at one smiling, cooing little man that is almost 3 months old,
and his BIG brother that you can barely remember cooing - because now he's talking, and running, and playing.

It brings a mother to tears.

I love every minute of being a mom, but I will tell you - even the precious moments that make you grin from ear to ear, will bring crocodile tears to your eyes!!!

Small Delay!

Having trouble posting - not sure why - but I guess we'll be chunking our StaatsPac posts for a little while!

At least we have it figured out now when the publish post button won't respond to me - it only took me 2 weeks and every last strand of patience to get them posted, but we're ok now!

More to come soon!!!

Joys of June #2

Anthony is sitting up a little better - and really enjoying the exersaucer - this is one of my new favorite pictures!!!

Augie has used the big boy potty a few times now - and really likes the Cars Pull-Ups. He doesn't completely understand not to "pee-pee on Lightning" yet though. We are very proud, but we're going to take it slow also!!! And if you come to our house, don't be surprised by the little containers of M&M's in the bathroom cabinet. He knows he gets "um-a-ums" if he uses the big boy potty - and LOVES them!!!

He also learned the official use of a hammer. He is Mommy's little helper, and we've been updating picture frames and covering empty walls!

Look how good he's doing! Thank goodness we got him that little Black and Decker work bench for his birthday.

And then there's our training! I've been trying to get back in shape so that I can start training for a half marathon in October! Augie, about half the time, gets to go with me in the jogging stroller. He really enjoys it. Although, he does make me slow down a little at times - to stop and smell the flowers - literally!
He carried this one the whole run and brought it homw to show Dad!!!

on to the next . . .

Joys of June #1

June was one busy month!!! Here is a quick overview - some of the in between moments!

Anthony found his hand - where Augie went for the thumb - Anthony sticks a minimum of 2 fingers in his mouth at a time! It is hillarious!!!

The family came and helped me with the end of the year safety patrol party. We went bowling, and Augie assisted me on a couple of turns. This picture is right after WE GOT A SPARE!!!

Augie also got to discover cup cakes. "Cu-CKKKKKKKK" as he calls them. He really likes the "ck" and the "x" sounds! (Cookie, Cup Cakes, and Alexa (his cousin and best bud) are a few of his favorites to say right now.)

We're watching a little more TV with all of the heat outside.

And we're smiling a whole lot!!! Very ticklish too!!!

More to come . . .
