Past all of our Bed Time

Well, it wasn't really past all of our bed times . . . just Gus'! Augie was playing happily. I just love to watch him kicking his legs and flailing his little arms. He is such a mover!!!

It is such a blessing to have such a healthy little boy!

You can definitely contribute part of having good health to getting good sleep (at least partly). Augie definitely has his dad's sleeping habits . . . for now. If you look really close, Gus is in the background of this last picture practicing on "getting healthy" by catching up on sleep! (It was only 7:00/7:30 when we were taking these pictures!) I didn't even mean to catch him . . . but it is a GREAT picture!!!

Good Night! Sleep Tight!

National Wear Red for Women Day

Today is National Wear Red for Women day! Heart disease is the #1 killer of American women every year.
I would have never known that if I didn't have the wonderful job that I have now! I love being a PE teacher and helping kids to know how to stay healthy and take care of their bodies. Jump Rope for Heart is a great event for the kids too . . . it is a very busy time for a PE teacher though. Today was the first friday of our event, and we tried to encourage the kids to wear red. It went really well! There were A LOT of kids in red. One of my students even had his hair painted red!!! He has such "spirit" when it comes to participating in - well anything that the school is doing. Go Dalton!!!
Not to mention, I made sure that my immediate family was also wearing red!!!

Augie was very happy to participate!

And - to change the subject a little - he is growing so quickly! He's really filling out the ol' car seat!!!

Love you - my BIG, little man!!!

Just for Fun!

Augie and I were hanging out this evenging. He is wearing his new pajamas that one of my students gave to him . . . Thanks Melissa! They are so simple and so cute. And they fit him perfectly - for a little while at least.
Anyway, I love the simple things - the cute faces - the big eyes - the coos!
I just had to get the camera out and snap away!

Especially the cooing!!! I love the way his little lips purse into a little circle. He is really making lots of sounds . . . I mean words!

Keep talkin' little man!!!

EVERYONE SAID IT . . . AND THEY WERE RIGHT!!!

Everyone told me, "You will love him (Augie) more than you've ever imagined yourself loving anyone or anything!" THEY WERE RIGHT!!! I will modify just a smidge though - because I love my husband more than I ever imagined being able to love a man.

MY TWO BOYS ARE MY LIFE - AND OH HOW I DO LOVE MY LIFE!!!

A quick follow-up from earlier this week - I did make it through the day - but barely! I went to see Augie at lunch time, and I still got out of the building as quickly as possible to go pick him up from the nanny. We spent the afternoon together - me and my little thumb sucker. Of course he slept through most of it, but just getting to be there with him made me all warm on the inside!

And my wonderful husband knows when I need a little extra Augie time - and lets me hog him a little bit more than usual! Thank you Gus!!!

Now this weekend was Augie's Baptism!!! We were so fortunate to have Grandma 'Raine be able to join us. She came in on Thursday night and got to watch Augie all day Friday while Gus and I worked. Not to mention, she continued to watch him so I could get my toes cleaned up a little - Yeah for pedicures!!! And then I had to go to the grocery store to make sure we had food for the family - Mom, Dad, Marci & John (now Augie's God Parents), and the girls came in on Saturday morning for the baptism. Unfortunately, Augie was hungry a little earlier than expected - and poor Grandma 'Raine took care of a very angry Augie - THANKS AGAIN FOR HANGING IN THERE GRANDMA 'RAINE!!!
Saturday was filled with lots of great moments though! The baptism went wonderfully.
Augie looked like a DUDE in his suit!!!

He didn't cry when Fr.Tom put the baptismal water on him!

And he even made it through all of the pictures afterwards - without leaking through his diaper and staining his suit!!! And he did "unload" during the blessing of God Parents and Parents - Marci and I were smiling - and smelling - as Augie calmly smiled proudly at his now gasless belly!

Of course - we are very proud parents of our little "Son of God!"

Celebration followed at the StaatsPac household!!! Augie received such beautiful gifts from everyone that came - he is one blessed, loved little man!

THANK YOU EVERYONE - AUGIE LOVES ALL OF HIS THOUGHTFUL, BEAUTIFUL GIFTS!!!

And of course - there was play time with cousins before we all CRASHED from exhaustion! We love you Elena and Alexa - we had SO much fun with you here!!!

Thanks again to everyone who was able to be here and share this occasion with us! And to those who could not, we miss you very much!
All our love,
The StaatsPac

OH, The Things We HAVE To Do!!!!

Oh, the things we have to do! LIKE GO BACK TO WORK!!!
We went to look at a truck for Gus last night - it looks good! He's going to get it today at lunch! But we didn't get home until 8:00. We are all exhausted today - to say the least. I'm still adjusting to being back at work - and not getting home until 8:00 . . . well, let's just say I don't want to do that again . . . and I'm really glad that Gus found a good truck for a good deal! What a blessing.

The hard part though - was getting up this morning. And once we were up and getting ready - which we were ready 30 minutes earlier than usual - Augie fell back asleep!

And then we got to just enjoy his preciousness!
And then I remembered what it was like just a week and a half ago, when I got to do that all day. Not a minute lost! And now . . . I have to put this precious little man in a car seat and drop him off every morning! Today is going to be HARD - REALLY HARD!!!

I MISS YOU AUGIE!

A Day of Rest?

So - I know that Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest, but for me . . . resting is getting everything done that I can't do during the rest of the week . . . like home projects, truck hunting for the hubby, and blogging. It is somewhat restful though, because I feel more rested knowing that it's getting done.
We still had our Sunday breakfast (Gus made a scrambled omlet and cinnamon rolls!), went to church, and spent the entire Sunday as a family!!!! That is honestly my goal . . . Sundays are our family day. No matter what we do, we do it as a family. Including watching the game tonight, eating dinner, and hopefully going to bed semi-early!

So - WeekEND in review:

Yesterday started out a little difficult . . . My bubba woke up, and his nails were a little long. I noticed a small scratched on his nose and decided to cut his little nails. Well, Mommy accidentally got some skin in the clippers with the nail. My bubba's little thumb now had a little booboo, and it was bloody. I still feel horrible. We even had to put a tiny bandaid on his thumb, because it was bleeding quite a bit. I took a picture though - BECAUSE IT DIDN'T PHASE HIM AT ALL. HE DIDN'T CRY EVEN A SINGLE TEAR!

We worked pretty hard after the rough start though - and of course still didn't get it all done. We're re-doing the guest bathroom and trying to have it spruced up by this weekend when company comes over (Augie's going to be Baptized on Saturday - so we'll have lots of people using that bathroom!) We still have a bit to go though. We have the drawers and cabinets painted, and the mirror is framed. Gus initially wanted to buy a whole new one, but I told him about framing it ourselves to make it look more modern (Thanks for the idea Jess!). We both decided that it turned out looking REALLY good!

We still need to paint the actual cabinet structure that covers the sink pipes, install the awesome new faucet that we purchased, put the mirror back on the wall, and then clean it up nice and shiny! It's going to be a busy Monday tomorrow!!!

All of this wasn't done yesterday because we only have one vehicle right now and everything takes a little longer when that's the case. I took my honey to work, went to get Augie's baptismal suit (IT IS SOOOOO CUTE - but you have to wait to see it until after the official day of use!), grocery store, back to pick up Gus, and of course the preliminary taking apart of the bathroom. It was quite a busy day!!!

We have tried to relax a little in between all the activity as well. Mommy and Daddy both got some one-on-one Augie time!!!

AND THAT'S WHAT'S REALLY IMPORTANT HERE!!!

Week In Review

So - I have missed my mommy blogging time. I know I talked about going back to school, but I was so consumed with trying to prepare myself for the return to work that I forgot to blog about my big guy's updates from his doctor appointment on last Wed.

Our Quadzilla is now weighing in at a whopping 12 lbs. 2 oz. Measuring a length of 23".

Wow, he has grown so much - and continues to everyday! He just keeps changing (and eating)!

As for the past week:
We're now putting him on more of a meal schedule - I think it'll help both of us A LOT! He is quite a wonderful baby . . . pretty much sleeping through the night already. Last night he went to bed by 9:00 and slept through until 5:00 this morning. Which is perfect, because that's the time I have to get up for work anyway!!! GO AUGIE!!!

He likes his nanny. And so do I! She is great with him and very accomodating. Not to mention . . . she's Spanish speaking . . . and she's more comfortable speaking in her fluent language (Of course - who wouldn't be), and I think that my Spanish is now improving and my vocabulary is growing as well! And I'm getting more comfortable speaking it!

His eyes are taking on their brown coloring now! They still look smokey, but I can see the brown taking over!

Other than that, Gus sold his truck - it went pretty quickly! WooHoo! So we're down to one car for now. BooHoo! But it is just until we find a new one that's worthy. WooHoo!

SATURDAY HERE WE COME!!!
